Achieving the dreams of those who are part of the support of Manos Amigas has motivated each person to make an effort, take risks and not give up.
With the environment in mind, the “Generating Opportunities” program incorporated the “coconut” as a new work material for the artisans. The participants began the month designing handcrafted pieces, using a base of different materials to take advantage of the abundant waste of this fruit in the area.
The cosmetology project showed benefits that have been generated in the members thanks to the techniques taught, where they were given new experiences and knowledge in the area.
“I was able to reinforce my learning as a cosmetologist. I did permanent straightening, men’s haircuts, acrylic reinforcement, women’s haircuts, dyeing, highlights and bleaching,” said Jazmín Rivas González, a participant in the course.
Painting the future in a different way and providing tools to achieve it, makes the person feel capable, motivated and interested in learning. Manos Amigas has worked hard for this, so the dream of many people has become a reality.
Jazmín González, a participant in the course, confessed that she always wanted to continue studying but could not because of her economic situation, but thanks to the help of the Association she was able to continue learning.
In the classes you can see the interest that each person gives for a better future and how well they perform with their knowledge tools to obtain greater opportunities and start their own businesses.
On the other hand, in April donations were received from Clinica Miraflores, making their donation to the health and nutrition of adults and children of San Luis Talpa, Comalapa and its surroundings. Among other donors was the MAO Association, providing help for the health of chronic hypertension and diabetes patients.
